Job Description

Intern will be part of Manufacturing, Technology & Innovation (MTI) group with-in Jabil. MTI group collaborates with divisions across Jabil to design, engineer and develop cutting-edge processes and capabilities for our customers. Through rigorous application of applied sciences, this group collaborates directly with customers on proof-of-concept development that literally drives faster time-to-market, increased yields, greater product differentiation, cost efficiencies, higher quality and optimized cost-of-goods sold for end customers.

Intern Project Scope (please provide as much detail as possible):

Project Description:

Intern will aid in the process development for mass production of printed and flexible hybrid electronics using screen printing. Intern will also be part of developing the projects that lead to the assembly of some of the world’s most innovative products. Intern will receive firsthand experience in laboratory printing, assembly, testing, and analytical activities associated with the development of advanced technologies. Intern will also have the opportunity to work with cross functional groups such as Jabil Manufacturing and Business Development teams. In addition, intern may be assigned specific projects either as part of, or in addition to, the day-to-day activities related to your assignments. Students that can work for long term (beyond the summer) will have a preference.

Objectives & Key Deliverables:

  • Complete specific projects assigned by the Project or Department Manager
  • Perform and document technical tests and experimental results in a laboratory facility
  • Conduct root cause analysis, troubleshooting and debugging
  • Support Jabil manufacturing and test groups with customer satisfaction as a top priority
  • Provide feedback and support for continuous improvement in the MTI team
  • Contribute to Innovation challenges
  • Contribute in research and development of novel Architectures, Devices or Materials
  • Participate in Thought Leadership activities and publications
  • Flexible work schedule given potential deadlines

May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Preferred Academic Major(s): 

Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering & Material Science


ADDITIONAL skills as needed (e.g., proficient in excel):

  • Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, Design of Experiments and Minitab
  • Knowledge on Printed Flexible Electronics
  • Strong academic performance (3.0 or better GPA)
  • Demonstrated leadership experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills (verbal and written)
  • Self-starter and innovative thinker
  • Teamwork mentality
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Highly organized with attention to detail
  • Proficient with MS Office
