Badger has deployed the largest fleet of in-store robots in the world, providing actionable data and analytics for retail operations through automation solutions that include a fully autonomous robot to address out-of-stock, planogram compliance, price integrity and other operational inefficiencies 

We are looking for energetic, passionate, and innovative engineering students to help us develop, deploy and support solution deployments with some of the largest grocery retailers in the world.   The position will offer the student the opportunity to be on the leading edge of technology in designing and deploying our autonomous robots to help keep customers safe in the stores, and to improve store execution.  We have a startup mentality and enjoy a very casual, fun, but intense work environment that includes free drinks and snacks anytime, and a happy hour on Fridays!  

Job Description 

As a Software Test Engineering Intern at Badger, you will be a part of a team that is developing ground-breaking solutions to provide insight for retail businesses.  These solutions include fully autonomous robots and Cloud Software Solutions.  

  • Interface with multiple development team members to document scenarios for testing new customer-facing features  

  • Develop tests to validate autonomous robot navigation, image pipeline and cloud solutions  

  • Work with developers to reproduce problems, analyze log files, and to help debug issues    

  • Test new features / releases to support customer success and make recommendation as to Release Readiness    

  • Develop new tools to improve organizations efficient effectiveness  

Candidate Qualifications 

  • A learner and wonderer 

  • Ability to work and thrive in a dynamic, rapidly changing work environment 

  • Socially adept and highly collaborative. 

  • Innovative, not satisfied with status quo, and always looking for a better way of doing things 

  • BS Computer Science and/or Computer Engineering  

  • Programming experience – Python, C, C++, Java  

  • Experience developing automated tests and in using automated test frameworks  


This position is based in Lexington, KY, though some travel may be required
