Job Summary

This role overall response for JGP Division data strategy, architecture and data analytic solutions enable deep business insights and value.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Strategy and Architecture
    • Develop and maintain a data architecture roadmap indicating current, transition and future state architecture to align with business and analytics strategy
    • Develop common data model and schema
    • Lead big data software evaluation
    • Design and build division data storage and computing capabilities, align with enterprise data lake and data warehouse
    • Develop framework, metrics, and reporting to ensure progress can be measured, evaluated and continually improved.
    • Communicate progress effectively with the executive team

  • Data solutions and Platform
    • Work closely with business to understand the business objectives and proactively recommend data and analytics solutions that can help business to achieve their goals.
    • Collaborate and align with corporate and division IT to drive data unification and integration.
    • Implements processes and systems to monitor data quality, ensuring production data is always accurate and available for key stakeholders and business processes
    • Stay current on emerging technologies; analyze, prototype and develop a point of view for core, enabling, and emerging technologies
    • Manage data engineer team to define and improve data collection and analysis capabilities.

  • Data Governance
    • Develop and maintain data-related processes, policies, procedures and guidelines
    • Manage common Meta Data
    • Manage data privacy control
    • Define data quality measurement metrics
  • Derive business insights, identify patterns and trends in variety of data sets.
  • Design, develop and maintain scalable and flexible data models, data architecture, data governance, data analysis platform (cloud based or on-premises)
  • Work with data scientist in analysis that help to identify business foresight.
  • Solid experience and knowledge in Data lake and Data Warehouse
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Mandarin are required as the successful candidate will liaise with our counterparts in the globe, such as China, Europe and US.

Technical skills and competencies

  • Minimum 8 years of professional experience in data warehousing, operational data stores, and large-scale architecture and implementations
  • Expertise in Big Data and Data Lake technologies
  • Experience with Hadoop, Spark, MapR, Cloudera, RDBMS, Hbase, Snowflake and Stream Processing
  • Competent in business intelligence tools like Power BI, Tableau.
  • Certain technical knowledge and practice of data programming and tools such as Python, SQL.
  • Be knowledgeable of statistics, database structures, data cleansing and ETL
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Mandarin are required as the successful candidate will liaise with our counterparts in the globe, such as China, Europe and US
  • Manufacturing industry domain experience is an added advantage.

  • Able to engage cross-functional team and maintain close collaborative relationship across teams with sharing of ideas and joint initiatives
  • Bachelor degree holder in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or related fields and equivalent experience.
