Job Description


Represent the quality function of technical support, in conjunction with other internal support groups, regarding issues affecting manufacturing on customer accounts. Serve as liaison between Jabil Circuit and suppliers or customers on quality related issues.  Establishes product quality requirements and quality documentation.  Acts in a lead or supervisory role to less-experienced Quality Engineers and QE Technicians.


  • Develops and maintains QA plans and FMEAs

  • Conducts Advanced Quality Planning and Process Optimization specific to the customer

  • Provides support for all quoting activities including initial process design, development, and implementation phases

  • Evaluates and support inspection processes via inspection aids and instruction guidelines

  • Supports training through development and implementation of specialized training for  applicable functions

  • Conducts periodic review and maintenance of all documentation files

  • Reviews all supplier or customer discrepancies and coordinates and tracks the subsequent corrective and preventative actions

  • Provides trend analysis of defects occurring internally and at the customer and supplier

  • Interfaces with all departments with special regard to Quality Systems Regulations {ISO 9001, ISO 13485, ISO 14001 and QSR 21 CFR part 820}

  • Provides technical and logistical guidance and support for the Quality Engineering staff

  • Interfaces and provides technical support on quality issues with the customer

  • Analyzes reports and returned product and recommends effective corrective action

  • Drives proactive participation with suppliers, and aids, when applicable, in their process improvement efforts

  • Supports and drives corrective action efforts utilizing SPC data and corrective action tracking

  • Serve as liaison between Jabil Circuit and suppliers or customers on quality related issues

  • Participates in Lean Six Sigma initiatives

  • Works safely at all times and complies with Environmental Health and Safety standards and work practices along with all other work rules


  • Bachelors degree and five years experience in Manufacturing Engineering OR Quality Engineering OR equivalent

  • Knowledge of statistical methods and their application to a manufacturing process

  • Knowledge of quality theory and practices

  • Knowledge of surface mount technology assembly processes, methods and equipment preferred, but not required

  • ASQ certification (CQE, CQA, CQT) desired

  • Advanced PC skills, including training and knowledge of Jabil’s software packages

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required

  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization

  • Advanced reading, writing, and math skills required

  • Experience in productivity improvement required

  • Strong knowledge of statistical methods and their application to a manufacturing process required

  • Strong analytical, interpretive, and problem-solving skills required

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence


Individual may be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time.

The employee is frequently required to walk, bend, and lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and use of computer monitor screen a great deal of the time.  .


Must be able to travel on occasion. Individual’s primary workstation is located in the office area, with some time spent each day on the manufacturing floor.

The noise level in the work environment ranges from low to moderate.
