Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
Serves as the “bridge” between Design Engineering and NPI in leading the transition of product from Design to start of production in ensuring all quality standards and processes are met.  Leads the program management teams on new technologies, product introductions/transfers and engineering projects through its entire launch/execution process. Partner with the Design Program Managers and the Regional Program NPI Managers for all technical work-streams, including documentation creation and maintenance, as well as defining and specifying technology interfacing. Integral lead in ensuring all product and quality standards and requirements are met.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the region for all value-added quote for all new customers.
  • Responsible for and assists to maximize the existing Plants’ NPI Performance in the region.
  • Sharing best practices from the region to ensure “above and beyond” the current baseline throughout Jabil.
  • Review new initiatives and plans to integrate improved processes into all necessary sites. Assure these new plans are an improvement to the business and the project plan is viable.
  • Primary contact and program expert for A&T regional ops development leader. 
  • Hands on expert leading the teams on process development and implementation projects.
  • Interface with the A&T Design team and establish training for all site personnel. 
  • Support teams on automotive standards and processes, ensure all global standards are aligned, Monitor/manage Quote and NPI performance.
  • Alignment with A&T BU Teams on new technologies driven by product requirements.
  • Support Engineering teams, Quote teams, Engineering Service activities and Problem Resolution activities. Ensure team follows all Automotive standards (AIAG, APQP, IATF) and meets customer deliverables
  • Monitor effectiveness of team and ensure programs meet all deliverables
  • Lead, train and mentor teams in the progression of design to NPI, meeting the needs of the A&T sector and customers.
  • Understand and ensure global tools and systems within the site are utilized
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Oversee the integration of all processes, ensuring they are followed in support of NPI including:
    • Verification planning, coordination & documentation
    • Technical, design & interface requirements
  • Lead resource allocation efforts in securing design and NPI staff to support program deliverables. Proactively adjust budgets and resources as needed.
  • Lead program reviews, resourcing, staffing, progress reporting, people management, and troubleshooting for design engineering programs.
  • Partner with the A&T regional ops development leader in ensuring all program scope changes are properly identified and approved. Monitor changes in ensuring identification, communication, and documentation of a change in scope is delivered.
  • Manage the integration between Design Engineering and NPI to ensure all program requirements are met and processes utilized
  • Develop standard processes for monitoring program progress and health.
  • Enable growth and development of program teams by establishing opportunities for knowledge sharing; training; coaching and mentoring.
  • Subject matter expert on process required to deliver from design engineering to NPI.
  • Document follow up and implement lessons learned and participate on adequate distribution and application.
  • Drive the value of Engineering to the business by assuring that engineering guidance and processes are well aligned with key business objectives
  • Monitor program team services and deliverables (program plans, business requirements, test plans, program risk assessments and status, resource planning, program executive summaries, etc.). Prepare and deliver presentations to senior management and directors around program status, constraints, and critical issues.
  • Support all programs and initiatives related to the Ethics Code, Jabil Value and Sustainability programs.
  • Support all company Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality programs, and initiatives. Understand and implement the Quality Policy.


JOB QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong knowledge of Program Management processes including budgeting, and scheduling. 
  • Ability to access and manage risk which may include tradeoff decisions / direction.
  • Automotive and transportation global and regional product design industry knowledge.
  • Strong proficiency in determining product design requirements to enable company’s business goals and objectives. Ability to devise and implement strategy to achieve targets.
  • Proven track record of successful change management accomplishments, implementing and management continuous productivity and cost reduction programs.
  • Strong and convincing communication skills.
  • Proficiency in use of personal computers, Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and e-mail skills required.
  • Excellent MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project)
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Proficient with Conflict Management
  • Advanced Problem-Solving abilities
  • Proficiency in use of personal computers, Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and e-mail skills required.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
·         Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
·         PMP Certification or equivalent required
·         Minimum three (5 ) years work-related experience required in a supervisory/management role AND
·         Minimum 10 years project management experience or related discipline.

·   Automotive and Transportation industry experience a plus

·         Or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.

This job cannot be performed remotely in the state of Colorado.
