JOB TITLE: Industrial Engineer II
DUTIES: Plan studies to determine the most efficient sequence of operations and workflow; recommend methods for maximum utilization of production equipment and personnel; monitor and continuously improve daily quality/efficiency performance for assigned areas; prepare and maintain detailed line balances for all products/lines; perform all related sustaining activities such as NPI/ECN/PCO changes for product families; develop and design optimal material presentations to reduce non value added work for all assembly operations; design, develop and maintain layouts; develop and maintain detailed work instruction/visual aids; implement Lean manufacturing tools such as 5S, TAKT time, level load, Kanban (JIT) systems, TPM systems, Poka –Yoke (Mistake proofing), VSM and Kaizen; support work cell on all Cost Reduction /Cost Avoidance Initiatives; analyze work force utilization, facility layout, and operational data such as production costs, process flow charts, and production schedules, to determine efficient utilization of workers and equipment; design and procure production tooling, processing equipment and workstations; coordinate layout and workstation move activities; prepare time estimates for proposed projects and evaluates time factors; reduce manual assembly scrap by monitoring quality data and taking corrective action to improve or correct the operations; recommend methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities such as restructuring job duties, reorganize work flow, relocating work stations and equipment, and purchasing equipment; and, adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor. Supervise one to four Engineering Technicians, depending on project.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or in a closely related or equivalent field and 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience to include each of the following: 3 years performing modeling to develop tools to capture Overall Labor Efficiency (OLE) and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE); 3 years with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) designing material flow from receiving to manufacturing to shipping; 3 years in simulation and operations modeling; 3 years performing engineering labor standards time-studies and at least 1 of those years using Maynard Operating Sequence Technique (MOST) or Modular Arrangement of Predetermined Time Standards (MODATS) analysis; 3 years performing facilities layout planning and warehouse material flow using AutoCAD application; 3 years utilizing shop floor control systems; 3 years performing capacity (CAP) modeling; 3 years utilizing TQM, 8D and PFMEA quality control tools; 2 years of experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP); and, 1 year working for a logistics or a contract manufacturing company.
