Job Description

To provide engineering support for design, testing, production-pilot, transfer, installation, validation, start up, stabilization and documentation of new products and equipment integration into manufacturing.


  • Assist NPI Engineer in developing new product validation program and assure compliance to reduce the launch time and increase process yields throughout the process.

  • Perform walkthroughs, inspections, product evaluation and testing as needed.

  • Conduct NPI test evaluations such are: GR&R, SVs, Test Method, Criticality.

  • Ability to understand and utilize assembly documentation such as but not limited to the following: Schematics, BOM’s, Visuals, Debug, Testing tools and procedures.

  • Update and generate documentation as required into quality system such as: WINDCHILL or ETQ.

  • Ensures that all up-rev’s, Deviations, and EC’s are implemented on NPI and production runs.

  • Provide clear direction and training for production associates.

  • Advise on scheduling and staffing needs.

  • Complies with all 5S standards.

  • Provides guidance, training, and leadership to new technicians or clerks.

  • Recognized development expert on at least 2 NPI activities such as: New components upload (SAP system), Customs paperwork (376 form), RMI Inspection process/approval, Quarantine material request (380 form)

  • Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level

  • For those who supervise or manage a staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable

  • Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures

  • Performs other duties assigned as needed


  • An Associates of Science in Biomedical, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical, Manufacturing or similar or Technical Certification preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 6-8 years of experience or equivalent knowledge and skills to perform the position responsibilities

  • Experience in the medical device industry or medical field

  • Experience in GR&R, SVs, Eng. Studies, Protocols (Preferred)


  • English language medium to advance
    ​Knowledge of NPI Process/Development (preferred)

  • Basic PC skills, including training and knowledge of Jabil’s software packages.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general new product/manufacturing/quality procedures or medical regulations.

  • Ability to write Completion Reports or Engineering Studies, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of new product development.

  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

  • Ability to interpret and manipulate various types of testing scripts and CAD data.

  • Ability to write test scripts and interpret CAD data.
