Job Summary
NPI Process Technicians are responsible supporting process development and implementation of the Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing) process and should consistently drive issues to improve quality and process yields. Responsible for supporting Additive Manufacturing material and process development on multiple Additive Manufacturing platforms. Also responsible for maintaining the integrity of the manufacturing area including test equipment, additive manufacturing machines, and conventional equipment such as blast cabinets.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Prepare 3D CAD data for polymer selective laser sintering and fused deposition modeling machines and operate said machines
Operate shop tools such as a drill press, blast cabinet, band saw, powder mixer, etc.
Operate polymer characterization equipment
Assist SME Additive Manufacturing Process Engineer in developing preventative maintenance program and assure compliance to reduce downtime and increase process yields throughout the process
Perform walkthroughs, inspections, product evaluation and testing as needed
Operates Additive Manufacturing equipment
Assist Business Unit with special customer requests
Ensure product manufacturing completeness and reliability
Update and generate process documentation as required
Assist SME Additive Manufacturing Process Engineer with quality process reviews
Evaluates NPI Additive Manufacturing Equipment and determines any needed repairs and coordinates such repairs
Ensures that new NPI process developments are completed in a timely fashion and verified for stability before being released for manufacturing
Ensures quality (work meets or exceeds Jabil Workmanship Standards) and improves efficiency
Advise supervisor of any operator failure so that prompt corrective action may be taken
Ensure parts/assemblies are properly handled and marked
Ensure daily logs and move/production tickets are accurately maintained
Advise on scheduling and staffing needs
Complies with all 5S standards
Must have the ability to lift at least 45 lbs
Education & Experience Requirements
An Associates of Science in Additive Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering or Materials Science, Industrial Engineering or Technical Certification preferred
Plus 1 - 3 years experience
Or equivalent combination of education and experience
