Job Description

Job responsibilities:

  • Review and update mechanical drawings
  • Maintain and update engineering database
  • Assist in daily activities
  • Potential for experience in implementing design changes and contributing to enclosure design aspects
  • Produce assembly drawings/ instructions as required
  • Assist with project documentation, BOMs, and material selection
  • Create thermal and 3D models as required (SolidWorks and/or Creo)
  • Perform mechanical assembly and lab work as required
  • Sort materials and inventory in the lab
  • Perform lab technician activities (Soldering, wiring) as well as unit testing as required
  • Participate in the development of improvement of projects

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Currently enrolled in a mechanical engineering or technologist program
  • Strong knowledge of 3D modelling (SolidWorks and/or Creo)
  • Knowledge of basic mechanical principals   
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Sound judgment and initiative
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and prepare technical reports
  • Eagerness to contribute and able to effectively manage multiple tasks
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Have successfully completed at least one previous work term/coop placement
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office (excel, word, powerpoint)
  • A team player, willing to work with others in a fast paced environment
