Job Description

Supplier Quality Engineering Technician  

Assist the Quality Engineering function as technical support in issues affecting supplier quality. Confirm materials and documentation received is complete and meets applicable requirements. Support communication and corrective action efforts with suppliers. 

Inspects and measures material to ensure conformance to part specification in accordance with industry standards and/or customer drawing requirements. 

  • Measures critical characteristics of incoming material using various mechanical and electronic measuring tools.  

  • Reviews and dispositions AS9102 FAIR’s from suppliers.  

  • Understands and interprets part specifications.  

  • Enters test and inspection results into SAP or part folders as necessary.  

  • Maintains filing system for records.  

  • Creates and releases Quality Notifications in SAP as needed.  

  • Performs solder samples, internal Part Number Changes (PNCs), and specialized quality requirements.  

  • Manages the RIR (quality notification) cage. 

  • Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor. 

  • Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy. 

  • May perform other duties as assigned.  


One to three years related experience and/or training.  


Ability to use equipment and tools typically used in the inspection process such as calipers, gage blocks, gate pins, and optical comparators. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and understand general dimensioning and tolerances.  


Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and CAD drawings. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before 

groups of suppliers or employees of organization. 


Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. 


Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. 


The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Individual may be required to sit, stand, or walk. Lifting of up to 35 lbs. 


The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. Individual’s primary workstation is located on the manufacturing floor. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
