Descripción del Trabajo

  • Research all aspects of labor & employment law globally as directed. 
  • Manages L&E projects of increasing complexity.
  • Supports senior L&E attorneys in providing day-to-day employment law advice to Human Resources and other internal business partners, with the goal of taking progressively increasing ownership over such tasks, regarding a wide variety of global labor & employment law matters including: recruiting; hiring; employee relations; labor relations; discipline and terminations; internal investigations; leaves of absence; discrimination and harassment issues; global mobility issues; contingent worker issues; employee privacy issues; compensation, benefits, bonus and equity awards; employment litigation; dispute resolution; negotiated exits and settlements. 
  • Drafts employment-related policies, procedures and self-service tools.
  • Supports RIFs, Re-Orgs and employee separations.
  • Supports L&E investigative process including case management, metrics reporting and conducting investigations. 
  • Supports the management of employment disputes.
  • Investigates and responds to federal, state, and local administrative agency charges, including but not limited to charges of discrimination, harassment and/or retaliation. 
  • Creates or assists in developing guidance and delivering training and communications regarding employment law, relevant legal updates, and compliance issues.
  • Conducts L&E compliance audits.
  • Actively monitors new laws, legal decisions, statutory changes, and industry trends affecting the company's relationships with its workforce.
  • Supports and contributes to the L&E team’s annual objectives and HR initiatives.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • 3-5 years of labor & employment legal experience. 
    • Strong academic history. 
    • Graduate of an ABA or foreign equivalent law school, member of a bar in good standing, admitted to or eligible for in-house admission to practice law in Florida.
    • Ability to work extended hours and hours outside the regular workday to meet with colleagues in different time zones.    
    • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 15%. 
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Background in Human Resources
    • Experience with California state employment law, federal/state laws relating to leaves of absence and disability accommodations, and wage and hour laws.
    • Bi-Lingual (Spanish or Mandarin)

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a changing, decentralized, fast-paced, and energetic environment.
  • Strong work ethic, ability to work independently escalating issues to senior attorneys as appropriate. 
  • Exceptional time management skills, including the ability to prioritize and manage competing demands.
  • Strong project management, organizational and team collaboration skills.
  • Substantive background in labor & employment law. 
  • Sense of humor.
