SUMMARY
To ensure that the Quality Management System and its tools are followed in the manufacturing line, through
preventing and correcting issues.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Leads corrective/preventive action process for problem resolution and continuous improvement
Monitors and improves metrics
Identify and implement the required documents and procedures to support inspection efforts
Be the liaison for Customer and Supplier issues affecting product quality
Provide tactical guidance, mentoring and coaching to the work-cell
To direct, coordinate and review all activities of the audit personnel & processes in manufacturing, and in other
applicable areas as required
To assure all procedures and guidelines are followed and executed in a consistent and orderly manner
To support and educate manufacturing personnel in the interpretation of specifications and quality policies
governing the manufacturing areas
Assume the quality conscience of the work-cell in all aspects of the business
Focus on the quality efforts from material qualification to end user reliability
Monitor trends in quality data (yields, OMI, DPMs, scrap, corrective actions) to identify continual improvement
opportunities
Provide accurate, timely feedback of production issues to the work-cell teams
Escalate issues and declining trends to the appropriate personnel for resolution
Training and evaluation of inspection/audit functions
Support and coordinate (as required) regulatory and internal audit activities
Drive quality awareness in the labor force, including supervisory and support personnel
Project a positive, “can do” attitude, implementing creative solutions in situations where ship commits could be in
jeopardy, without compromising outgoing product quality
Communicate clearly and effectively to the work-cell teams staff on all Out of Box Audit issues that require
additional support, escalation or resources to effectively manage or resolve
Complete understanding of customer requirements and expectations
Protecting the customer from all internal issues
Open communication with the production teams, focusing on preventive actions and activities
Monitoring work-cell metrics and leading the team in improvement efforts
Using the shop floor control system to understand and report non-conformances in manufacturing
Intimate understanding of the activities comprising the OBA function; including inspection criteria, problem areas,
manpower, problem resolution and the overall support of the process as QE
Timely, accurate communication of quality data and audit results to the appropriate personnel
Promoting a “quality first” mentality to the employee base
Reinforcing, in all situations, a “positive” attitude about the customer (regardless of how challenging a customer
may be)
Assists the Quality Assurance function as technical support in issues affecting manufacturing. Supports and
drives corrective action efforts.
Assists Quality Engineering in APQP
Performs MRB on sustained products
Participates in CAC meetings – support continuous improvement
Support Manufacturing Engineering with FMEA development and implementation.
Create, implement and maintain the Control Plan (CP) in relationship to the FMEA.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience
SMT / PCBA process experience a plus
