JOB SUMMARY

Leads the Product Lifecycle for all products in the Home, Personal and Professional markets for Jabil Packaging Solutions.  Works cross-functionally to design and develop new products, launch new products, manage the margin profile, and eventual rationalization.  Supports quoting efforts.  Will support project project stage-gate reviews with internal and external stakeholders.   Facilitate and execute DVT builds in design labs to represent production equivalent protocols.

Responsible for Product roadmap planning, market investigation and assessment, training Business teams and overall product vision. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works with Internal and External stakeholders to determine product specifications

  • Manage multiple programs at different stages of the development cycle

  • Interface with the customers for business development and market understanding. conducting customer interviews and user testing

  • Make recommendations to ensure appropriate alignment with operations requirements and materials sourcing

  • Works with NPI team to define and solution requirements and configurations

  • Works with BU leaders to align on market needs, target customers, and strategy for market penetration

  • Works with marketing for product features / benefits and corresponding collateral

  • Participates in off-site transfer planning, training and start ups to manage successful launch

  • Supports trouble-shooting activities and data/knowledge collection/ management activities with Test

  • Support the assessment of resource loading and task assignment to accomplish the job to schedule

  • Manage relationships with contract agencies

  • Contribute to the cost management effort by supporting forecast review and visibility to changes in budget

  • Provide leadership for creating product management culture within the business

  • Engage with 3rd party services as needed

  • Develop RACI’s to help clarify responsibilities across the broader teams and drive accountability

  • Manage typical transfer challenges and cultural barriers to facilitate successful product lifecycle management.

  • Identify creative ways to reduce cost by streamlining processes and systems

  • Utilize tools to monitor departmental cost and cost trends, striving continuously to improve value.

  • Provide feedback to peers on cost and cost trends.

  • Set market pricing for product launch and manage costs to maximize profit margin of product portfolio.

  • Demonstrate a commitment to customer service; anticipate, meet and exceed expectations by solving problems quickly and effectively; making customer issues a priority.

  • Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

  • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

  • Work concurrently with Program management, Design Engineering, Business Unit Management, Manufacturing, Test, Purchasing, and Quality departments through various phases of a lifecycle. 

  • Work cross functionally to provide a product design that not only meets the market’s criteria, but is also of high quality, cost effective, and manufacturability.

  • Provide Business Unit Management / Business Development/PM’s/Functional Mgt. with timely and accurate VAVE options.

  • Oversee the defining of procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. 

  • Present capabilities and results to both internal and external customers.

MANAGEMENT & SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Typically reports to Management.  Direct supervisor job title(s) typically include:  Sr. Director of Strategy and Product Management

  • Job does not currently have direct reports but position will grow over time for opportunity to manage Jr. product managers

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

  • Prototype and NPI skillsets in Packaging or CPG Industry

  • Market pricing experience

  • Design thinking experience or creating products that solve a problem

  • Strong problem solving and market investigation skill set

  • Strong Communication and critical thinking skills

  • Experience with marketing collateral development

  • Budget forecasting management.  Revenue Modeling

  • Proven track record of successful change management accomplishments, implementing and management continuous productivity and cost reduction programs.

  • Proficiency in use of personal computers, Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and e-mail skills required.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree required. 

  • Degree in Business, Marketing, or Engineering discipline.

  • Minimum of 7-10 years work-related experience required, preferably in an NPI, product management, or project management

  • Experience with plastic injection molding and/or fiber molding preferred.

  • Previous cross-functional team leadership experience

  • Or a combination of education, experience and/or training.

This job cannot be performed remotely in the state of Colorado.
