job summary

The AVI (Automated Visional Inspection) SME is responsible for AVI process setup, validation, fine tuning, buyoff and control for site. The AVI process including PCBA SMT, wave, selective wave, dispensing, conformal coating and assembly inspection, quality control.

As one of the technical communication channels with work cell and global SMEs, the AVI SME should have in-depth AVI and automation knowledge, including IPC/Industrial standard on PCBA SMT, wave, selective, dispensing, conformal coating and assembly, strong SPC analytical capacity to improve the FPY and false call rate, who should/could lead the evaluation of related type AVI vs product to meet Workcell project requirement, understand how to setup AVI with whole line layout to implement automation to realize man freely, having AI knowledge or testing software development would be prefect.

Mentor and develop the Manufacturing Engineers and Technician.

hiring PROFILE

  • B.S. in Engineering, Science, Physics, Automation from a four-year college or university OR equivalent combination of experience. 
  • Generally, requires a minimum of 3 years of related working experience in AOI, AVI testing: Testing capability development, optical inspection algorithm development or automation development.
  • Generally, requires to familiar PCBA and sub-assembly process, understand each station standard cleanly, like IPC-A-610, stations including SMT, wave, selective wave, dispensing, conformal coating and assembly.
  • AVI/AOI hands-on experience, be familiar with Magicray or Omron or other AVI machines; TRI AOI or KohYoung AOI, Vitrox AOI.
  • Ability of development language application: C#, C++, VB, VC, Halcon, OpenCV, Delphi, Labview, Python, VisionPro, Direct Show. Be familiar with one or some of the above the development language.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, listening, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of Manufacturing Engineering philosophies and processes
  • Extensive knowledge in systems which supports the Manufacturing Engineering functional process.
  • Cross culture working experience is preferable, fluent in English or native English speaker.

key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for AVI process setup and sustaining.
    • Set up and sustain plant level AVI/ACI/AOI guideline, baseline, lesson learning and audit process.
    • Lead the effective validation with correct type AVI and buyoff before leading new machine to new project.
    • Lead team to improve AVI FPY and false call rate.
    • Develop new technology, like AI, 3D to realize full automation, lead the team to achieve man free process.
    • Review and support team trouble shooting.
    • Skill training for engineer and technician.

  • Global Communication
  • Maintain a global prospective when making AVI process, procedure, or gear decisions.
  • Coordinate interplant initiatives and facilitate the sharing of best practices.
  • Metrics corrective action
  • Analyze upward feedback / drive into Best Practice where appropriate.
  • Global CIP project on AVI process.
