SUMMARY
Performs basic preventive maintenance and repairs on production equipment to ensure equipment
is maintained in acceptable running condition. Provides leadership, direction and training to
Machine Support Technician I’s, new Machine Support personnel and Manufacturing employees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Performs basic production equipment maintenance, scheduled preventative maintenance
and repair
• Edits, debugs and creates machine programs
• Maintains sufficient stock of spare parts, tracks usage and reorders as needed
• Assists with line moves
• Coordinates with staff, internal and external customers and equipment vendors to improve
process-related issues
• Trains Machine Support Technicians in machine repair, maintenance techniques and trains
Machine Operators and others on new and existing gear
• Assists with the development and certification of Machine Operators and also assists
Engineers when needed
• Attends cross-functional meetings and communicates issues to team members and/or
vendors to drive corrective action
• Works safely at all times and complies with Environmental Health and Safety standards and
work practices along with all other work rules
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent education
Minimum of three years experience in area of specialization
Advanced reading, writing and math skills required (i.e., 12th grade level)
Advanced PC skills (i.e., keyboarding skills, advanced mouse usage, opening, closing, moving,
and deleting programs, folders and files using MS Windows)
Ability to work under tight deadlines with frequently changing priorities and interruptions
Advanced troubleshooting, prioritization, analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to understand and perform procedures and work instructions
Occasional travel
Ability to utilize advanced tools and follow procedures for maintaining manufacturing controls
Must obtain and maintain specified Machine Support certifications

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
May be required to sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time
Occasionally lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Required vision abilities include close vision and extended use of computer monitor
Must wear appropriate attire as needed including a respirator or hood and pass yearly pulmonary
test
Periodic medical evaluation may be required
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Individual’s main work area is located on the manufacturing floor
The noise level in the work environment is normally low to moderate
Exposure to chemicals, high temperatures and high voltage is to be expected
