Job Summary
Develops and implements production/processing methods and controls to meet quality standards in the most efficient manner for new and existing assembly/molding processes. Monitors the assembly/molding process; troubleshooting problem processes and assisting in resolving quality issues.
Key Responsibilities

Implement the startup of new/existing projects/production jobs, optimizing cost, efficiency and quality.

Establish and ensure process control and maintains appropriate documentation.

Monitor machine management data in order to maximize utilization and minimize machine-generated scrap.

Assist with establishing process for new product lines; document product development and changes; evaluate new product performance and monitor new tool design.

Debut moderately complex problems within a portion of new systems, tooling and automation.

Ensure that process parameters are within acceptable tolerances for products and components.

Implement experiments to enhance processes as well as improve yields and utilization through reduced cycle and efficient set-up.

Provide input on creative ways to reduce costs by streamlining processes and systems.

Implement maintenance changes in process improvements; propose or specify repair alteration of automation while ensuring adequate documentation is maintained.

Coordinate line reconfigurations and machine move activities, including equipment arrival, positioning and installation, and scheduling of support groups (Machine Support, Facilities, MIS, etc.) using the approved communication process.

Verify that machine maintenance is performed as scheduled on assigned line(s).

Provide guidance, assistance and / or training to the Manufacturing Engineering Technicians.

Encourage open communication and exchange of information within the M.E. department and between the various support groups.

Assist in establishing clear, measurable and attainable goals and objectives by which to determine individual and team results.

Maintain a clean and safe work environment; supporting all company safety programs and initiatives.

Apply and support lean manufacturing principles.

Supports all company safety and quality programs and initiatives.

Other responsibilities may be assigned from time to time as needed, based on the evolution of the company and the requirements of the department/position.
Job Specifications

Bachelor's degree in manufacturing or plastics engineering (or and equivalent combination of education, training or experience).

3 plus years related experience.
-
Clean room, machine maintenance, assembly manufacturing, processing parameters and controls experience is preferred.
-
Scientific Injection Molding experience a plus.
