Business System Analyst III 

 

Job Summary 
Conduct business process analyses, requirement assessments and preliminary cost/benefit analyses to align information technology solutions with business initiatives. Create detailed functional specifications for developers satisfying business needs. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Collaborate with key business resources to gather business requirements 

  • Lead gap analysis/requirement gathering workshops 

  • Oversee large or complex projects including planning, assigning, monitoring, and reviewing progress and accuracy of work, evaluating results 

  • Analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to improve existing systems 

Understand business concepts, processes, design solution and translate it to executable functional specification 

  • Develop and maintain documentation for responsible area (BRD, FSD, User guide, Test plan, Requirement traceability matrix, Maintenance guide, etc.) 

  • Lead others in analyzing  customer requirements and preparing project documentations (BRD, FSD, Test plan etc.) 

  • Conduct peer reviews of BRD’s and FSD’ made by other Business System Analysts and provide constructive feedback to teammates 

  • Drive application standardization during the analysis phase 

  • Participate as key team member during implementation 

  • Collaborate with development team on the project realization 

  • Write and execute test cases to ensure requirements are covered and solution is working correctly 

  • Coordinate user acceptance test with Subject Matter Experts 

  • Provide support/Lead incident resolution in the assigned area 

  • Serves as escalation point for troubleshooting issues and coordinates with other Business Analysts and technical personnel for their resolution 

  • Detailed understanding of features of software applications assigned to him/her 

  • High level knowledge of the existing application landscape to identify best solution for specific use cases 

  • Exchange knowledge and information with other Jabil colleagues to ensure best practices are shared throughout the Jabil organization 

  • Participate in processes improvement, sharing best practices and proactively suggesting improvement points. Understand and embrace the business and IT strategic direction 

  • Proactively investigates new perspectives, attitudes to evaluate and improve knowledge and performance 

  • Participate in assessment of COTS solutions against our business requirements 

  • Ensure 100% adherence to all IT and department policy, processes and procedures and utilizes IT governance tools 

  • Maintains positive relations with all employees encouraging them to suggest ways of improving IT systems. 

 

Management & Supervisory Responsibilities 

  • Typically reports to Management 

  • Job is NOT directly responsible for managing other employees (e.g., hiring/termination and/or pay decisions, performance management). 

 

Knowledge and Education Requirements 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field 

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Business Analyst or similar role 

  • Good understanding of software development lifecycle (Waterfall and Agile) 

  • Ability to understand complex business problems and translate it to IT language 

  • Structured, process driven, pragmatic problem solver approach 

  • Good influencing, communication, and customer service skills 

  • Experience with working in a multicultural environment 

  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. 

  • Proficiency in use of personal computers, Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and e-mail skills required. 

  • Fluent in English 

 

Advantage 

  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field  

  • Familiar with BABOK (Business Analyst Body of Knowledge) framework and principles 

  • Worked in an environment using Agile development methodology 

  • ITIL Foundations Certification 

  • ISTQB Foundation level Certificate 

  • Business Analyst Certificate (PMI-PBA, CBAP or equivalent) 

  • AWS Cloud Practitioner Certificate 

  • SQL knowledge and experience 

  • Application development experience
