The IoT Software Engineering Lead is the technical lead for Jabil’s IoT products. Principle responsibility is the design, technical management, and timely delivery of successful IoT software solutions. The tech lead works with the engineering team, BAs, architects, management, and product owners to develop complete factory integrated IoT solutions.


  • Works with architects, product owners, and SME to understand and help develop product requirements. 

  • Works with architect to understand high level solution concepts, proposals, and technologies.

  • Provides oversight and review of technical deliverables such as specifications, designs, and project plans

  • Works with management, product manager and owner on solution deliverables, risks, potential issues.  Works with all teams when issues arise.  Proposes alternative work plans when issue arise.

  • Has coding responsibilities and takes on the most difficult coding tasks.

  • Helps BA’s with overall solution plan and design of Epics and key technical deliverables

  • Evaluates deliverables from each team member.  Works with management team member performance.

  • Provides realistic estimates, timelines, and work break-down structure for input to work plans

  • Keeps management and program manager apprised of project status, eliminating surprises as soon as possible Maintains a deep and broad understanding of the technology stack being used by your team as the lead technical resource for development, deployment, and maintenance of the program’s software systems

  • Provides technology direction, technical leadership, and mentoring to development resources

  • Ensures development work product compliance to approved architecture, design patterns, security practices, and other relevant standards

  • Drive Major Incident Management response and communication and assist developers in resolving technical issues/incidents

  • Contributes with an Agile mindset of open collaboration, frequent communication, providing timely feedback to team members and management, creative & proactive problem solving, and adapting to change quickly

What we’re looking for in a candidate:

  • 8+ years hands on software and product development experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering

  • Master’s in computer science or related curriculum a plus

  • Expert knowledge of software development, test, and CI/CD tools

  • Expert implementing and coding in an Agile environment

  • Expert with implementing and coding on Linux and Windows Server platforms

  • Expert knowledge and coding with AWS and Azure cloud platforms

  • Extensive knowledge with enterprise networking architectures

  • Extensive IoT knowledge and IoT solution development

  • Extensive knowledge developing and coding IoT REST/Sockets software and the use of API tools

  • Extensive knowledge of C#, Microsoft .Net Core, Angular, HTML, CSS       

  • Strong knowledge of access control, i.e. OAuth  

  • Strong knowledge and coding microservices architecture and containerization

  • Strong knowledge Docker and other containerization frameworks

  • Strong knowledge and coding on Kubernetes, Helm, and other orchestration platforms

  • Good Understanding of data science principles

  • Communicates often with architect, management, and other program tech leads

  • Communicates/Consults with management and program principles on problems and issues
