Internet of Things – Technical Manager
Jabil Industrial IoT is a group within Jabil that focuses on the development and delivery of IoT fueled products and solutions. We focus on connected edge hardware development and software/analytics based microservices.
The IoT Technical Manager is a product or solution program leaders, responsible for the technical delivery of the product as well as overall client satisfaction. This individual is accountable for the technical success of the project and will be the day-day lead. The Technical Manager will have a deep, hands-on role in defining, developing and delivering product or solution. This individual will be working closely with internal, externally and client engineering, product management and marketing teams.
Responsible for managing all aspects of the planning, design, development, and delivery of IoT edge products to Jabil Industrial IoT customers.
MAJOR / KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Collect, define and verify end-to-end system requirements, write detailed functional and test specifications, coordinate efforts with engineering to scope and build hardware including integration with the cloud platforms.
Provide technical and strategic leadership to quickly transition innovative concepts and ideas into commercial realization.
Data-driven and analytical. Ability to clearly & effectively communicate (written as well as verbally) across the org and up to senior leadership
Work with Sales and Product Management team to establish and obtain consensus on Customer goals, objectives, and deliverables. Assess the degree to which changes to scope, issues and risks will affect programs and gain agreement for resolution
Direct the activities of the program teams, coordinating and driving the team’s efforts towards successful delivery of assigned programs. Including managing key strategic partners/vendors and their collaborative selection
Determine resource needs, and account for their effective use
Adjust program scope and timing based on the needs of customers
Responsible for delivering all programs on time, within budgets and meeting the strategic and business requirements
Responsible for tracking key program milestones and recommending adjustments to Executive Management ESSENTIAL QUALIFICAITONS Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in EE, CS, Business Administration or other related field. EXPERIENCE
2+ years of relevant work experience in technical program/project management in a consumer electronics environment SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of IoT product life cycle and development including production and delivery at scale
Experience defining projects, collecting requirements, writing detailed functional and test specifications, coordinating efforts to scope, schedule and deploy new features sets
Experience analyzing cost/benefit of feature selection
Fluency with JIRA project management tool
Must have competency in either embedded hardware design or software design/engineering
Strong problem solving and negotiation skills to earn trust and influence partners and teams
Basic understanding of Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Cellular connectivity and sensors
Prior experience as a Hardware or Computer Engineer is a plus

BS/MS EE, ME, CS, Software Engineering or equivalent
